Split Rock (click image for info)

“Split Rock” is a hand printed Art Quilt. Finished size: 17.5″ x 20.5″.

I took this photo of a rock, which had been split by the constant freeze and thaw along the shore of Manitoulin Island, Lake Huron, Ontario, and printed it on cotton. I created the border fabric by making a rubbing of rocks using Colour Vie pigments. Pieced and free motion quilted.
